"My stay was from April 19th through the 26th of 2008. I also read many horror stories about this resort and I must admit, I was thinking about getting it changed since I have stayed in places like Marriots. But I had a friend of mine from Flaggler drive down and check it out. He and his wife said it seemed a bit dated, but over all appeared very nice so I decided to give it a try.
I have to say that I was well pleased. My friends were right to say that it was a 'bit dated', but over all was very nice. The room I had was a studio with a pull out bed from the wall. This was perfect for me since I was traveling alone. If I had traveled with a guest we could have used more storage in the room and bathroom for clothing and personal belongings.
Good things I have to say is the front staff was very helpful and friendly. I think I had contact with most all of them, but unfortunately I did not get names. They deserve credit all the same. The pool/tiki bar area was very clean and well taken care of as was the entire outside of the building. I did not get to fully utilize the game room, indoor pool or the fitness area as I was running around most of the week with several friends so I can not comment on them.
But what I did utilize (mostly at the end of the week) was the restaurant and, especially the tiki bar. This was staffed by two awsome people, one was Scott and the other was Ivanna. I'm not saying that no one else works their butts off there, it's just that I had more contact with them since my Thursday afternoon and all day Friday was bascially with them. They were both very friendly and worked long hard hours to keep this part of the resort going strong. I wanted to show my appriciation to both of them for a job well done!! You will both be missed!!!
In closing, I will say that you can find fault if your detail oriented, but it was very obvious that the management and the staff is making it a cleaner, nicer place to stay in Daytona. Thanks to EVERYONE for their efforts for making my vacation at the resort a great one!! I DIDN'T want to come back home. Hope to be back again!!!!!"

"Mr. Matus - we have just returned from spending 2 weeks at the Grand Seas - and I can say that we so very much enjoyed our time there. The front desk staff welcomed us with smiles and professionalism. The housekeeping staff was gracious and friendly. The room was clean and well-appointed and met our few needs - the view was fantastic - and with the exception of a few non-respectful guests to others in the complex (loud partying at 2-3 AM in pool) we had a fantastic time. Of course, this occurrence of partying had no reflection on the resort - but rather those who have little respect for others. Our concerns about the stuff we read about the property were unfounded. My husband and I would like to thank you and the staff at Grand Seas for helping to make our vacation a memorable time. Wish there was a way to provide a deck on each unit to enjoy those magnificent sunrises with a cup of coffee. But going to the beach with cup in hand was even better.

"Memorable experiences at the Grand Seas Resort? There have been so many, where do I start?
My wife and I have two little boys. Talk about a great place for active kids! Between the playground, the putt putt course and the kiddie pool, they didn't even have to go to the beach to have fun. But when they made it onto the beach, it was really a blast for them. And safe. No cars on the beach, which we really liked. For grown-up convenience, the inside restaurant and outside tiki hut are tough to beat. Overall, I think it's a special place, especially for familiies. We have traveled to several beaches in Florida and have been to Tybee Island in South Carolina. Nothing compares to what's available at Grand Seas.
Since our first visit a few years ago, we've been back several times, including using bonus time for quick getaways. And we look forward to our next visit!"

"The week of April 14th was a very special time for us! As a matter of fact, 2007 is a very special year for us! This year Bill celebrated his 80th birthday, I, Barbara, celebrated my 75th year and we both celebrated our 57th wedding anniversary. Our four living children were very excited about Bill reaching his 80th and wanted to celebrate with him. We decided to make it a triple celebration.
Since we had tow units and another saved week, we decided to bring all the siblings to the Grand Seas for a GRAND reunion, and they came, from Connecticut, Maine, California and Florida. Kids, grand-kids and great-grand-kids. It was a hectic, noisy, wonderful, loving reunion.
We enjoyed the museum, shopping in the old town, swimming in the pools and walking on the beach and the young folks took a day-trip to Cape Kennedy. We enjoyed it so much we decided to upgrade our membership."

"JUST GOT HOME TODAY AND MISS THE GRAND SEAS ALREADY----I'll be honest--I read the previous comments AFTER I booked my son's graduation party here---with 5 other familys getting their own rooms--one of the moms sent me the terrible comments and asked what do you think---I said: well its booked, the invitations are mailed---were gonna try it---We stay at Daytona once or twice and year--and the hurricanes took our normal place away....so we were looking for somewhere new to stay every year----had not been happy with replacement stays elsewhere UNTIL WE STAYED HERE-----I HONESTLY don't know how previous comments could have been so bad---I have nothing but GOOD things to say----from ck in to ck out----rooms were GREAT---STAFF WAS GREAT---Maggie the tiki bartender was GREAT---restraunts were GREAT---POOLS SPECTACULAR---SO IS THE MINI GOLF--AFFORDABLE, COMFORTABLE,FUN VACATION OR GETAWAY!!!! IGNORE THE OTHER COMMENTS----DO STAY HERE!!!---yeah, so it could use DETAIL cleaning or caulking----but nothing I don't need to do at home----really nicely decorated rooms---we had a one bedroom-with a COMFORTABLE KING SIZE BED-and I really liked it---off a seperate hallway....it even had a whirlpool bath in the bathroom!..............I wish they had balconies to sit outside and read, or watch the ocean---but that certainly isn't a complaint that they can fix. WE WILL BE BACK!!!"

"My parents had visited your place before and told us that we needed to see it for ourselves. My husband and I stayed there last week for our honeymoon and were absolutely amazed. "I stayed at the Grand Seas last year for spring break with my friend and her family and we had a blast! We relaxed around the pool everyday. This hotel is full of fun activities. At night we walked around the pool looking out at the beach. The music around the pool also made it such a fun environment. It is such a teenager friendly hotel, and my friend's parents and grandparents enjoyed it as well. I even convinced my parents to take me back this year!"
